Foxbar lies within the locale of Paisley, bordered by the Gleniffer Braes to the south, and Paisley town centre to the north. The area is mostly residential areas and has grown rapidly in recent years to be one of the largest housing areas in Paisley.
Foxbar & Brediland was selected as a target neighbourhood because of the low canopy cover, estimated at just 17.3%.
The combination of local canopy cover and data on deprivation from the SIMD indicates that this area would be most at risk from climate events that can be mitigated by increased canopy cover.
Our ‘1000 trees’ campaign will focus on delivering neighbourhood level trees where they are most needed.
Initially the project is focussing on the streets and greenspaces around Foxbar. Our aim is to plant 15 standard trees in Foxbar in spring 2024.
