'1000 Trees' Campaign across the City Region
The Clyde Climate Forest was launched in June 2021. Since then, the project has seen over 1.2 million community trees planted across the the region. Of these trees, around 50,000 trees have been planted in urban areas by local schoolchildren and community groups.
Many landowners have been approached to plant woodlands for wildlife with several projects in development, and many tree planting assessments have been completed on council land.
All eight councils have committed to supporting delivery of the Clyde Climate Forest signing a Concordat agreement to embed CCF targets into their own plans and policies, helping toward each authorities own Net Zero ambitions.

Target Neighbourhoods
We have identified 16 'Target Neighbourhoods' across urban parts of Glasgow City Region which have low levels of existing tree canopy cover and are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
In each of these areas we are running a '1000 Trees' Campaign aiming to plant up to 1000 trees in each of these local neighbourhoods.
A full list of our target neighbourhood projects can be found in the graphic to the left and you can click into each local authority area below to see projects.
