Through an enhanced environment the Glasgow & Clyde Valley (GCV) Green Network will transform the lives of 1.8 million people, making Glasgow City Region a much more vibrant, resilient and successful place.

It will provide well-connected, high quality, multi-use greenspaces throughout the region, from cycle paths to allotments, wildlife habitats to rain gardens. The Green Network will provide easy and well-linked access to the outdoors for people of all ages.

Work with a range of private, public and third sector partners across Scotland to turn ideas into tangible change, to build more sustainable communities and a greener country.

GAT plan, collaborate and deliver positive action across the country to achieve Scotland’s climate change ambitions, as well as identifying and delivering opportunities for improving greenspaces in both urban and rural settings. Green Action Trust are specifically responsible for the delivery of the Central Scotland Green Network, the largest green infrastructure project in Europe.

At the same time participants learn new skills, improve their physical and mental health, and engage with like-minded people.

Creating new woodland is at the heart of what Woodland Trust do by mobilising communities, landowners and volunteers to get trees in the ground.  Woodland Trust aim to plant a tree for every person in the UK.

The Clyde Climate Forest received £200,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). The Shared Prosperity Fund is part of the government’s central mission to level up opportunity and prosperity, each of the eight regional councils contributed some of their UKSPF funding allocation to the CCF.
